After straightening my hair daily for the past two years, I've finally had an epiphany and discovered I'm destroying my hair by doing so. I've stopped straightening it and deeply condition it now, and I've gotten a hair-cut to reduce my split ends and start from scratch. My hair remains frizzy and dry; what should I do about it?
I'd like to have my hair straighter but don't want to further damage it via straightener. Is chemical straightening destructive and do you recommend it or not? Do you know of any straightening creams or serums that work very well and can be obtained on a small budget?
Also, I just got my hair-cut to reduce the damaged ends, but I'd love to have my hair long again. I've heard it said that you can't make your hair grow faster. Is this true or are there ways of doing so?
Thanks!!

You cannot make your hair grow faster. But you can add moisture to prevent it from breaking and getting split ends.
Aveda makes really great products for damaged hair. Try the Damage Remedy shampoo and conditioner and there is a weekly deep conditioning treatment. If you can, put on a plastic cap and sit under a hair dryer with the weeky treatment. The Brilliance pomade will add shine.
Look for an Aveda Concept Salon near you or order online at www.aveda.com.

To get straight hair you should use Sunsilk straighten-up. And i recommend NOT chemically straightening your hair, my friend did that and it doesn't look that good and it REALLY damages hair. Also dove advanced care therapy shampoo/conditioner will restore hair and get rid of frizz and flyaways (not completely of course, but it will take care of some of it).

well i blow dry and straightened and bleach and dyed and all you can imagine in my young teen years lol and it was DRY and just ugly when i didn't do anything to it but then Dove (volume) changed my hair life forever=P also after showering i used Biolage閳?Shielding Shine Mist (just a little) and i was actually able to leave it down without doing anything to it and it was soft and full and wavy/curly =} i still straighten my hair and dye it...lol but i kept the dove and the mist and it works out great=}
