to make the sea salt spray, simply mix 1 3/4 teaspoons of sea salt and 1 cup of water, and put it in a spray bottle. or you can use a professional product such as Bumble %26amp; Bumble's Surf Spray, or John Freida's ocean spray. spray it in, scrunch your hair a bit and let it air dry. after it dries, DO NOT BRUSH YOUR HAIR. it will ruin the beautiful curls.

I think that if you have got thick, wavy hair you shouldnt get it cut too short because the shorter it is, if its really thick its going to come outwards. Medium length i think is perfect for your hair type, maybe you could try square-cut bangs so they dont come round your face but still are layers and go in sections down the front! or could try having a side parting with a side fringe, side fringes are really popular at the mo and will refresh your look instantly!

Braid your hair before you go to bed. It works a lot better if you use thick braids. In other words, you only need 3-5 braids in your hair. The less braids, the bigger the wave. If you want even wavier hair, take a shower or get your hair wet before braiding. Sleep with the braids in for a whole night. Try not to toss and turn too much, if you can. It will give it an even better boost. When you wake up, simply unbraid you hair. Brush (or comb, if you prefer) your hair softly without much pull. You don't want to ruin your awesome wave.

If that dosen't work here a mehtod that gives better results for some people.

Wash your hair normally, and at the end of your shower, rinse your hair with cold water. Spritz your hair with spray in conditioner/detangler and brush your hair through and find your part (off center is very pretty and goes well with this look). Spray or rub in a curl booting product, not too much or your hair will get weighed down and greasy. Tousle your hair with your fingers, then sleep on it. In the morning, straighten about 1 inch of the ends of your hair, and straighten your bangs. Scrunch your hair, then add a bit of hair spray. If your hair is flat at the top, spray it with water, add a small amount of gel, scrunch it into a ball, then secure it with a jaw clip. Leave it for about 10 minutes then spray with hair spray and remove the clip.

At any rate, to make a long story short, since you asked about "straightening" and defrizzing really frizzy and wavy hair, I would like to suggest you make an appointment at a reputable hair salon and get a consultation for a hair relaxer. The stylist who does your consultation will help you determine if that is a good option for you.

Now, I realize that there are home relaxer kits available in stores, but if you don't know what you're doing with the items in the kit, you might end up making your problem worse, so it's best to get it done in a salon, at least for your first treatment.

There is a chemical process now available which is called "Thermal Reconditioning," or Japanese Hair Straightening. Though it can be quite expensive, it has been known to produce incredible results. Maybe this is an option which you can explore.

Use a very strong conditioner that almost relaxes your hair. You could use Loreal Nature's Therapy, Mega Moisture formula. Then use some Kiehl's heat protecting, straightening cream on your towel dried hair and blow dry your hair so it is completely dry. Then use a ceramic iron, like Chi.

I do this every week and I have the healthiest set of hair.

buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.

then for waves, sleep in braids. (the number depending on how wavy you want your hair. i would probably recommend about eight or so) then you just take them out in the morning and just brush the top of your hair. you can use hairspray, but i usually dont need it, but then again, my hair holds waves really well......

and if you shower in the morning, scrunch your hair with mousse and it looks pretty good but might get a little frizzy.

and to get a curled, more voluminous ponytail or wavy (if you separate curls), here is what you do. just put your hair up in a ponytail before bed, then put anywhere from 1-3 curlers in it (depending on how much hair you have and how thick it is and how big you want your curls) then when you wake up, roll them right out, and re-tie your ponytail holder and brush the top of your head, without brushing down the curls. you can put hairspray in if you want, but you might not even need to for just a ponytail.

I happen to have thick, course, and wavy hair. I have had lots of hair styles but continue to go back to a stacked bob. I have my hair stylist cut in a decent amount of layers in the top for the volume at the crown of my head and also texturize a lot to keep it from getting too "poofy."

I have the same problem myself. I don't know any natural ways other than thr most simplest. Stick in some light gel when the hair is wet then let it air-dry. A de-frizzing creme works better. If you bother your hair while it is drying, it is more likely to frizz up.

I have naturally curly hair and it can get pretty frizzie also. Try putting silicone drops after you towel dry it and let it dry either naturally or with a dryer.

Go to a hair salon, and ask the hairdressers for suggestions on hair styles that will work well with your hair type, and will be simple for you to maintain. You should be able to choose from several, which will increase the possibility of your liking the result. Ask for suggestions in several lengths, too. You can always start with a longer one, then go progressively shorter, or start short if you want. If you don't like it, it'll grow out in a few months anyway. Just don't do it right before some important event ... allow at least a couple weeks.

Very simple you'll soon get the hang of it :)

First of all if your natural hair is really straight you should definitely consider getting a curling serum. Spritz this on to damp (not wet) hair.

Take a section of damp hair and, starting from the tips, wrap your hair around the roller brush. Once you get to your scalp, hold the brush there and with the other hand place the blowdryer on a very hot setting very close to the hair on the brush (almost touching) and blowdry. Do this for about a minute for each section.

Gently start rolling the brush downwards to release the hair and comb it gently. Then spritz with hairspray to stop it from losing its curl.

However the easiest way to create wavy hair is too twist sections of damp hair right up to the scalp before you go to bed and tie them so that they stay twisted all night (again maybe also spritz with curling serum). In the morning you'll have extremely curly hair and you just have to brush/comb it through until the curls turn into looser waves.

Hey, you would be better off scrunching up your hair gently whilst drying on a low heat. Keep the hairdryer blowing downwards rather than upwards or using a diffuser, as this would give more of a curly look.

you can use rollers to make your hair wavy, they are a little hard to use but if you have someone to help you its fine. make sure you roll your hair loosely around the rollers (the tighter you roll it the more curl you get). if your hair is shoulder length or longer try putting your wet hair in a few loose braids and sleeping on it. by the time you wake up your hair will dry and youll have perfect loose waves!

Well, I have a hair straightener too (it's amika though) and it's also supposed to curl hair...which I haven't exactly figured out yet either. On mine though your supposed to take like a one inch section of hair and put the hair straightener in the middle, then curl it up and pull it down (slowly) curling it more as you go. I don't know if it will help at all cuz it sounds confusing, but it's really not that bad. A good tech can give you a fringe out of the new weave. They don't have to have any of your hair except the small section covering the top track. This section is critical to your weave looking as natural as possible. Talk to your stylist/ tech about this and see what they intend to do about this area. Best of luck.

- "Strictly Curls" is a book about curly hair styles. I like to sweep hair back with 2 crisscrossed bobby pins after parting my hair to the side. I also like to wear my hair half up and leave out individual curls to frame my face.

- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sulfates). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (read more about this at one of the websites) . Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair. Then let your hair air dry or use a blowdryer with a diffuser.

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Aussie Moist Conditioner. The combo of products that I use daily is Garnier Fuctis Sleek and Shine Leave In Cream, Tressemme Clean Hold Gel, and Aussie Tizz No Frizz Gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working.This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!

It's important to layer your hair. I have hair just like yours; if I don't have layers, my hair will either have no volume or get really frizzy and out of control, depending on the weather. (I don't know about you, but my hair frizzes in the humidity). Get angled layers towards the front of your hair so that you don't hide under a tent--or rather, look like you're hiding your hair under a tent.

Sideswept bangs may also be a good look for you; ask your hairdresser. It's also really important to have a style that not only suits your hair, but also your face shape. Is it square? Round? Oval? Check with your hairdresser.

A few people said Conair Wet 2 Straight, but since you live in Texas that's probably not such a good idea becuase of the humidity. (Your hair will puff up 30 just 30 minutes after using Wet 2 Straight because of the steam it uses, humidity makes your hair act that way.)

I was on a quest for the perfect straightener, lookings at CHIs, Sedu, and Solia. The best striaghtnerer I've found, though, is Conair Ceramic. It's cheap, $20, and you get WAY more than what you pay for. It's amazing!!!! I absolutly recomend it to anyone. The one I have is a metallic silver...

Also, try using Vo5 Make it Staright Straightening gel. I found it at my local Target for just -gasp- $3 and fell in love with it! I don't have much time to do my hair in the morning, so I wash my hair at night, put in a good amount (quarter size) of gel in my hair (evenly distribute it) and let it air dry as I sllep. In the morning my hair isn't quite straight but it cuts my styling and straightening time in half. The gel also has heat protection and makes my hair feel reallllly soft.

Now it is straiht on top and about half way down it gets curly. I wouldn't suggest a body wave. Hair is funny like that, you just have to accept your hair the way it is. face shape always matters. If you have a square shaped face, layers will do you wonders. Your curls will soften your features and when you blow dry your hair, the layers will also help soften your features. It's a win win.

my hair is wavy when it wants to be and curly every other day. It gets a little frustrating and i dont always have time to blow dry it straight (never flat iron!! it's murder to your strands), so I use their anti frizz and anti pouff products and I deep condition every time I wash with the pink deep conditioner.

when hair is wet add the leave in conditioners (notice plural) and a little JOHN FRIEDA curl enhancing spray and you'll have knockout curls. =)

I garauntee these are the only products that have worked on my hair without drying them out.

I like to air dry because heat will always dry out your strands, or the flowing air will just make my hair even more pouffy. My trick is to add the leave in conditioners and (sometimes) gel and leave it alone. I dont touch it until it'd dry. If you want a part in your hair, part while still wet and let dry in that style.

PS. adding a little gel while its still went wont hurt either when it really humid or windy out. =)

right after you get out of the shower dry your hair a little with a towel so its not soaking/dripping on the floor. then comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb (I have a clinque one) and then part your hair into two sections (like for pigtails) but braid your hair.

Put a little herbel essence hair spray gel or john frieda depoofer thing (i think its step 4...its a cream in a tube)

leave your hair in the braids all day and take out maybe 2-3 hrs b4 you go to bed so any remaining wet hair can dry.

FrizzEase works wonders! I use to use it all the time. Check out sunsilk as well. I use pantene myself and it does wonders for my hair. I have the same problem with the frizzy. I have personally used and really like (because it works on my hair) Aussie Dual Mousse and Leave in conditioner combo mousse. I have naturally straight hair but I get a body wave perm put in it and I can use this to style when straight or tame the frizzies when I don't straighten.

It's really light and doesn't get really stiff like other mousse or gels do. I highly recomment it! Aussie's scruch spray is a good finish with this product as well. Be careful tho because if you use too much it will make your hair really stiff.

no forget about all those greasy products... they just make your hair look oily. just use any normal conditioner and leave it in your hair for a long time (like five minutes) then when you're done and your hair is still wet you can get that "static guard spray" or any other static spray

in fact this spray was mostly intended for use on clothes... but it eliminates static electricity which is the same problem in hair. anyway it works like a charm. it's not bad for the hair either and it doenst make it greasy. just spray on hair and brush. anyway if you don thave this, then use dryer sheets (white things youp ut in laundry) and rub them gently downwards on hair (from scalp down) that usually works... but it takes a while... and not as well as the spray.

Use moisturizing shampoo and conditoner like Matrix, Biolage, and Infusion-23. Do deep conditoning at least once a week!!! When you condition do it twice to get your hair really soft the last time you condition it wash with cold water it will seal the moisture and add shine. Applying a leave in conditioner will often help tame your frizz, without weighing it down too much or leaving it feeling greasy. Some suggested leave in conditioners: Aveda Brilliant Damage Control, Bumble and bumble leave in conditioner with frizz control, or Aussie Hair Insurance. A great product for air drying your hair is Aveda Brilliant Pomades theres one for curly and straight hair.

If you're going to blow dry your hair and you want it curly, use a diffuser on the end of your blowdryer. Flip your head over and scruch your hair, but not too much. Dry until your hair is almost dry, and then let air dry the last bit. This prevents frizziness. Use a gel or pomade for this.

If you want to blow dry your hair and you want it straight, use a product that helps with this - Avedea Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade is a good one for this. Use a big round brush and blow dry your hair in sections, following the brush down through your hair. When finished with that its best to always follow up by flat ironing your hair in small sections, and then locking it in with a spray shine.

dont listen to the first answer...if you know your hair and it sounds like you do, then you know what your hair needs...if your hair is that dry and damaged (from the straightening and blowdrying) then you may not need to use shampoo that often, it will strip your hair of natural oils. Conditioner is not going to do that and you can use it as often as once a day but if you are straightening your hair just to go out in the day then you wont want to get your hair wet that often so i say it is fine to condition your hair every 3 days and shampoo once or twice a week. Also you should get a good frizz smoother (one with no alcohol) to go on after you shower and before you straighten. good luck

if you cant afford a good hair straightener, try getting some sheets of light newspaper, and lay your hair out over the ironing board. cover the hair with one sheet of paper, and turn the iron to nylon setting or three dots.

it takes a while but generally gives good results.

You would need hair that is about shoulder length, cut into layers. Have your stylist recommend a good product to help the hair scrunch well and frizz less. Matrix makes some good products.

i'd try layers cuz then it wouldn't seem so thick! let it all curl to! i have naturally straight hair and i can never get it to curl so i think ur lucky!!

Dont get layers through out your hair or it will look like a frizzy christmas tree. i have super curly hair and i just got my hair cut last week (it was past my elbows). i got it cut a little below my shoulders, thinned out, with layered choppy ends, with long side bangs. it looks good when i just wash it in the morning and put leave in conditioner on it to for the frizzies.
