What is the best way to get wavy hair without french braiding, using heat, or loading on the product

Please, only stuff that really works and only answer if you know it's effective!

It's not a terribly wavy look, but when your hair is wet, and if you have the time, flip your head upside down and twist gently then wrap in a towel and wait for it to dry. Thin towel work best since more air gets in because they're thinner. When it's dry take it out. I've done this before and had slightly wavy hair with volume. You don't want to twist it too tightly or wrap the towel too tightly against your scalp because you will end up with very crimped roots. So it's better to keep it loose.

Or put your hair in a bunch of claw clips, again gently twisting.

Just regular braids - you don't have to french braid it. I used to wash my hair early in the evening, then braid it into half a dozen 'pigtails' - next morning I took them out and they were dry and I was ready to go.

Not sure how long or thick your hair is, or how it behaves, for the matter, but....

I have VERY thick hair that falls to my waist, and it's pretty straight naturally. To make it wavy, I just towel dry it really well at night, maybe blow dry is until it's only damp, depending on how wet it is after the towel. Then I take it like I'm going to pull it into a ponytail but only pull it half way through on the second turn so that I have a big loop, then I pull that loop halfway through so I have this funny little wad of hair on my head. I just sleep with it like that and when I get up and take it down when it's dry, I get big curls and waves. There's a few catches- you can't brush it much or else it'll pull a lot of the bounce out. You can spray it with hairspray to make it stay better, if you like. If you have short hair you could do the same ponytail thing but break it up into pigtails or one on top of the other. Hope that works!

What works for me and a lot of other people is foam hair rollers/curlers. Sometimes you can also put it in regular braids. That works too.

just use a shampoo that is supposed to give you volume but after you wash it rap it in atowl and let it dry it will give you the exactly right amount of wave without over doing it trust me i do it all the time

Old fashioned pin curls.

Take small sections of hair and twist them, they will kind of coil up then secure with a bobby pin. Everyone in my family has used this method. We all have thin fine hair that is impossible to curl.

Curlers or pin curls.

When you brush your hair, do it upside down. Afterwards, flip it about 20 times. Sounds crazy, but it works!

old fashion hair rolers! you still need some hair products... actually, you can use 7-up!!! This is how they used to do it back in the old days before hair gel and curling irons!

My hair is pretty long (mid-back) and sometimes if I want to make my hair a little wavy, I do the following: I wash my hair at night. Then I quickly towel it dry run a pick through it and pull int up into a ponytail on the top of my head. Instead of having my hair go all the way through the holder I kinda bunch it up and twist it around in the holder so it makes the waves.

I don't use anything special in my hair other than a hair band.

Hope this helps. :)

Stick your finger in a wall socket for 3 seconds. Works every time.

For loose, natural waves try this: Wet/wash your hair the night before and let it semi air dry a bit so it is not soaking wet, but humid. Part your hair into two sections and twist each into a bun and hold each with an elastic. Go to bed, and when you wake up, take the buns off, and run your fingers through your hair. If you want the waves to hold, you will have to spray your hair a bit. It a\ways looks nice and natural (like beach waves), not at all "made" and crunchy with product.
