Try a 3 barrel waving iron. You can find them at ulta and bed head just came out with one. Or you could do loose braids when the hair is damp, but it will likely take more than a half hour to dry.

Wet your hair so it's damp, but not soaking. Make about six to ten supertight braids, then hairspray them like crazy. You can let it air dry, or if you're really in a hurry use a blowdryer. Carefully take out the braids; but DON'T BRUSH THEM. Flip you head upside down, shake your head, and hairspray. There you go.
